A Thanksgiving Miracle
The past two weeks have been pretty rough. At the beginning of my Thanksgiving break on November 25th, my husband got sick with what we thought was the flu. With my weak immune system due to the Rinvoq medication that I am taking, I thought I was bound to catch what he had shortly. Anytime I get sick, I usually am sick for longer than the average person because of my weak immune system. This would be the absolute worst time for me to get sick.
The Christmas piano recital is coming up so soon, my students need me especially now, and I am going on a trip to visit my husband's family for Christmas. If I got sick, I would be sick for a long time, and it would not be good with all these things coming up. Not to mention, I still had to take care of my sick husband. All these thoughts swirled in my head when he was very sick for that first week. So, I prayed. A lot. I prayed in the morning, in my head throughout the day, and at night asking God to be with me and somehow keep me healthy enough to continue taking care of my husband and my other responsibilities.
A week went by, and I was completely fine. But he was still very sick and didn't have any improvement. After a visit to the doctor, it turned out that he had strep. I got him some medicine and continued caring for him. At this point I did start feeling unwell, but not too bad. Fast forward to today, I have had a head cold for about a week and am at the tail end of it and my husband is feeling better and is back at work today.
It is amazing to me to see how God took care of me during these past few weeks. By all accounts I should have gotten very sick very quickly and for a long time. But I only got a head cold and was sick for a normal amount of time [Update: I am still sick, so it's not quite a normal amount of time, but it's still just a cold!].
It truly is a miracle. I just can't believe I didn't get very sick, but I am so grateful He answered my prayers and was with me and gave me the strength I needed to take care of my husband and our responsibilities through those weeks!
