Exercise Routine and an Exciting Realization!
Recently, I finally got a good exercise routine going to help with my cholesterol and overall well-being. Every morning, I do three different workouts and record how I'm doing so I can see my progress. I do push-ups, crunches, and squats. Starting out, I did sit-ups but quickly realized that I could not quite do them properly. So, I switched to crunches, and this has been much easier in the sense that it is noticeably working my core better than the sit-ups.
Day 1 (about 3 weeks ago) I could do 5 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and 20 squats. Today I did 10 push-ups, 25 crunches, and 30 squats. The most squats I have been able to so is 40, but it depends on the day. Some days I can do more than others. But, although this is by no means impressive, it is a big improvement for me, and I can feel myself finally getting stronger. I can still only do girl push-ups with my knees on the ground, but it feels good to see some improvement. In addition to this workout routine, I also try to take a walk or two at some point in the week.
I have still been watching what I eat as best as I can and have been taking the extra vitamins for my condition and deficiencies. Something exciting that I realized recently is that I may actually be in complete remission. I feel completely normal and don't have any bathroom emergencies even in the mornings anymore. Used to, I would still have problems in the mornings, but I don't even have that anymore! I also found that I don't really need sleep supplements anymore. I have gone over a week of not taking any sleep aids whatsoever and have been sleeping well. Used to, I would need to take two sleep aids every night to get any good sleep.
It's a huge relief to see that the medicine that my doctor found for me, my being conscious in taking care of myself, and most likely the prayer of others has brought me to complete remission. It has been so nice to feel normal again and feel like I don't need to worry so much about going into another crippling flare. I can only hope and pray that I stay this way. But, in the meantime, I am continuing to be careful in taking care of myself and enjoying the relief of feeling like my normal, healthy self!
That's wonderful! The only push up that I can do, is pushing off from the wall! No floor exercises for me. The only time I'm on the floor is if I fell! I do go to the gym 3x a week. I do some walking, stair steppers, rowing, arm and shoulder and neck exercises.some some walking,
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty good though! It's good to do any exercise that you can handle. It doesn't have to be anything crazy. :)
