Vitamin Deficiencies: What it Means and How to Solve It

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have been feeling unusually tired all day for about a week now. I have always been more tired than most people my age, but it's been even more prominent recently. After looking over my results again a few days ago from the Simply Sensitivity test, I realized that it actually has a list of my vitamin deficiencies. My deficiencies according to my results are

  • vitamin B3
  • vitamin D
  • vitamin K
Knowing this helped me understand why I have been feeling the way I have lately. Vitamin B3, or Niacin, is what helps convert the food you eat into energy. It gives you the energy you need. Vitamin D promotes bone health, boosts your immune system, and enhances your mood along with other benefits. Vitamin K helps with blood flow and is all around just good for your heart.

Knowing that I am low or deficient in these areas explains why I have been so tired, moody (or just sad for no reason), and why I may feel my heart race for no reason. So, I have started taking these vitamins along with other vitamins, like fish oil, to help me absorb vitamin D in particular. The only vitamin I have not started taking yet is vitamin K, but I do plan on trying that as well. I also started taking probiotics since I had been taking antibiotics and it's just good for you in general.

So far, I do feel slightly better. It's not very noticeable yet, but I hope with time that I will begin to feel the good effects of the vitamins helping.

    1. Really? Good to know. I may try that too if the ones I'm taking don't work very well after a while.

  2. I thought you had to be out in the sun to get vitamin k, but don't quote me on that. I already take super B vitamins and D3, fish oil and a multi. I have been taking them for years. I drink green juice everyday and that definitely seems to help

    1. Nice! Vitamin K is primarily absorbed through consuming green veggies and oils. Vitamin D is the one you get from the sun. :)
